Wow walking with help

Today Joel and I decided to take some video of Lydia walking with her daddy. She loves to walk around the house and she loves to sit by herself and play. I also found that she loves to pet and pull Sadie's hair so I tried to catch her in the act. So I will post that video and the one of her and Joel walking. Hopefully soon I can show you her rolling over. She is almost there I just have to give her some more incentive to want to do it.

room time

So this Monday, I was thinking that every time I take Lydia into her room to put her to bed she starts to cry. Well I wanted her to enjoy her room so I decided to give her some room time. So I opened some toys that she got for Christmas and sat her down in there and let her play away. She played in her room by her self for about 20 minutes before she wasn't amused anymore. So every day in the morning we have had some room time. It doesn't always last for 20 minutes but long enough for her not to hate her room. Wednesday I had to go for my teeth cleaning and my friend Lauren came and watched Lydia for me and she did great. She didn't fuss only once while Lauren was here and that was a great thing. See she is going through stranger anxiety and we are trying to let other people hold her and love on her and take her away from us so that she doesn't cry with everyone. So she is getting better and tonight Joel and I are going on a date and she is staying with Lauren again.

Poor Joel

So I decided since Joel is working very hard to bring in the bacon I would take over for awhile posting on our blog. Well as most of you already know we have our beautiful baby girl and she is 6months old now. WOW, how times fly away. I was sitting today and reflecting on how Lydia has changed our lives. One thing we learned in parenting class is to make our marriage our first priority and then Lydia so she knows that her parents always love each other and Joel has done an awesome job on doing that and he has turned out to be SO GREAT!!! with kids. He was real nervous at first but he is definitely a natural. He also has his hand in helping with Tyler when I am babysitting too. Tyler definitely likes him and he loves for Joel to feed him so that is a lot of fun. I think Joel likes the fact that he isn't always the only boy. Well I hope this post finds everyone well. Valentine's Day

Well it's pretty pathetic how long I've gone without blogging. Oh well. I feel incredibly grateful and blessed this V-day. My wife is absolutely wonderful. And this is my first time having a second valentine! Lydia is the other love of my life after my wife. Michelle and I have been growing much closer this past year and it's been so exciting to see us both grow & change to be more like Christ. The more we reflect His character the more we reflect His love to each other and it's alot of fun. I've got a long way to go and she is so patient with me. I don't deserve her at all. So post is just to shout "Thank You" to my gorgious, fun love of my life, Michelle!

Our first baby!

I can't tell you what a blessing she is from the Lord and how incredibly beautiful she is. There's really nothing quite like becoming a dad.

the crib set

I couldn't believe how ridiculously expensive a quilt and a couple sheets in a bundle can be! Nicely decorated ones for a baby, naturally, but $200? I have to admit, Michelle has me spoiled because I see her sewing and embroidering things on a regular basis with the same amount of quality and a more personal touch.

The bedroom set was all picked out, and we even painted the baby's room to match (complete with bugs). But we had been waiting to see if someone perchance would buy it for one of Michelle's showers. Some friends of ours were looking at craigslist.org in knoxville, and found the exact set we wanted, only slightly used. Total the set they found was worth almost $300 because it included extras like the mobile, curtain, measuring chart and more. All this for only $90! This was a real God-sighting, praise the Lord for His wonderful gift ... of a baby!
