Our first baby!

I can't tell you what a blessing she is from the Lord and how incredibly beautiful she is. There's really nothing quite like becoming a dad.

the crib set

I couldn't believe how ridiculously expensive a quilt and a couple sheets in a bundle can be! Nicely decorated ones for a baby, naturally, but $200? I have to admit, Michelle has me spoiled because I see her sewing and embroidering things on a regular basis with the same amount of quality and a more personal touch.

The bedroom set was all picked out, and we even painted the baby's room to match (complete with bugs). But we had been waiting to see if someone perchance would buy it for one of Michelle's showers. Some friends of ours were looking at craigslist.org in knoxville, and found the exact set we wanted, only slightly used. Total the set they found was worth almost $300 because it included extras like the mobile, curtain, measuring chart and more. All this for only $90! This was a real God-sighting, praise the Lord for His wonderful gift ... of a baby!

lots of work

We've gotten alot done these last few days. First I finished painting the bugs on the baby's room walls. Check out the pictures below. Then we spent two evenings doing yard work. It was alot of fun! The first night we pulled up a ton of weeds out front and planted a few things. Last night I pulled up a dead bush in the front garden, then loosened up the incredibly dry soil so Michelle could plant some flowers we bought. Then I borrowed our kind neighbor’s hedge trimmer and trimmed all our bushes. I’ve got to get myself one of those ... too much fun!

Father's Day

So my first father's day is nearing an end. Michelle got me the most beautiful card, it actually made me tear up. She's so sweet. Even though our baby girl's not born yet, I still consider myself a father. And actually I've been wondering lately why we count our age by the number of years from your birth. Because everyone is actually 9 months older than that! So I'm actually 26 years old right now even though I celebrated my 25th birthday in February. Of course birth-day is a celebration of your day of birth, so out of convenience I'll continue to say I'm 25 years old. But I just thought it was interesting that many don't think about the baby being truly alive until it's born. Michelle's cousin also visited us last week. We had a really fun time, went to see the aquarium, and the Creation Museum.

vacation!

Wow what a great trip! Check out the photos to find out more, but we visited my parents, Gettysburg, and various parts of Cape Cod. Very relaxing and tons of fun with a great family. Grammy's house still has so many great memories. But I think this was Michelle's last big trip before the baby.

BIG announcement

From Our Baby
The ultrasound was by far the coolest part. We saw the heart beating, and it was even dancing in there. So we decided that the baby's song is Lord of the Dance. We're both very excited and it becomes more real everyday! Praise the Lord!
