Amen

I think it is so amazing when things finally click for Lydia. We pray each meal and I hold her hand and she is very good about holding mine. Well one evening this past week we were at Panera Bread eating dinner and Joel was praying and as always he ended his pray with Amen. So to our amazement Lydia says Amen. It was so neat to hear her say just because it shows us that she is very easily influenced and we need to take every thought and work captive especially when she is around.

Spring time

We went to get myself and Joel a pair of sunglasses yesterday and I found little kids sunglasses for a cheap price too. Lydia is always in the back seat complaining about the sun in her eyes so I figured we would try it and sure enough she loves them. We also took her to the park yesterday and tired her out for bed, well that wasn't the main reason but it sure worked. Here is a couple of pictures for you to enjoy.

Potty

So yesterday, Lydia started showing signs of wanting to use the bathroom. So Joel and I decided it didn't hurt to go get a potty chair. Now every time we change her diaper we say do you have to use the potty. So we tried and tried but she didn't use it. I wasn't discouraged, because after all she is 18 months old. So tonight while cleaning our house, Joel took her into the bathroom because she loves to help scrub the toilets. She pointed to the potty and said Potty daddy. So he thought well I will try and sure enough he sat her on the potty and she went number 1. YAYYAYAYAY for Lydia. So I am going to keep trying and see maybe if she will be potty trained by the time the new baby comes.

Warm weather at last

I am sure that everyone here in NKY is enjoying our 74 degree weather today. We started out with a list of things to do and we accomplished all of them and even enjoyed a park stop and a dog park stop. We cleaned out our fridge and our car and yes, even cleaned up the dog poop in our back yard. Lydia loves being outside. She ask outside mommy outside mommy. So we are going to be looking for some outside activities to keep her busy once spring and summer really hit. So if anyone has any ideas please let us know.

Thumb sucking Part II

Thumb sucking

So Lydia had her 18 month appointment and she is doing great despite her crash on the way into the doctors office. She tripped and fell into the door. The door was metal so she split her lip open right under her nose and got a bump on her head. So the doctor took her in right away and it turned out fine, except a little scar she might have when it completely heals. She has gained a good amount of weight for the doctor so that was good 4 pounds in 6 months. She did however, get her mommy's genes as far as height she is starting to no be so tall. Another thing is her thumb is getting beat up from her sucking on it so the doctor recommended we take her blankie away so that she would stop sucking her thumb, but in the meantime it has gotten a little swollen and infected so we started soaking her finger soapy water and she really enjoyed that. So here are some pictures and a video for you all to enjoy.

Congratulations Aunt Kim and Uncle Jon

Well 2 weekends ago we had the opportunity to go and celebrate the wedding of Joel's sister Kim and her husband Jon. All of us had a role in the wedding. Joel was a groomsmen and I was a bridesmaid and Lydia was the cute flower girl. It was a pretty interesting weekend. The first night we were there the fire alarm went off in the hotel we were staying in which happened to be the place where the reception was being held. So Lydia was awake from midnight until 2:45am. So I didn't get much sleep that night, but she did amazing despite the lack of sleep the whole weekend. I think she took maybe 2 good naps the whole time we were there, but she was a trooper. She even walked down the isle with me like she was supposed to and she was a very cute flower girl. I also was able to fit into my dress. My baby bump wasn't so big that the dress didn't fit. It was a great day. Pictures to come because I haven't figured how to upload them yet.
