Precious

Today, I took Lydia for her 9 months checkup except she is 10 months now. Everything looks great except she keeps falling off the curve for weight. So we need to fatten her up. She is 28 and 3/4 inches long. She is in the 99th percentile for height. So she is tall and skinny. I also talked to him about the fact that she isn't crawling and she isn't pulling herself to the sitting position. He said that she has all the muscles to do those things. So he thinks she is just choosing not to. So we just have to keep working with her and give her time. So it was an over all good appointment. She has her third tooth coming now so she is doing great. I labeled this precious because she has been cuddling with me a lot lately. She wants me to pick her up so she can hug me. It is so awesome. I love being her mom. I love the fact that I am her mom. It has been a very rewarding and growing time for me.

My first Father’s day

What a great weekend it was. As Michelle explained, she went above and beyond the call of duty, making it the most amazing first Father’s day anyone could ask for! Michelle not only brought me breakfast in bed, but got me a digital picture frame full of pictures of us and Lydia. Then Lydia got me the Indiana Jones trilogy on DVD. ;-)

So after all that wonderful stuff Lydia decided to make my day even more memorable. She managed to poop through her diaper and get it on my white striped shirt while I was holding her! LOL The first time she had ever gotten poop on my clothes, so that's actually a pretty good track record. But it was ironic that the first time was on Father’s day.

So now I'm sitting at my desk looking at the beautiful pictures of my wife and daughter on my new digital picture frame.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADDY

Today, was a particularly good day. Lydia woke me up at 6:30 and so I commenced the action of making Joel's day a special first Father's Day. I wanted him to know how great a daddy he was to our precious little girl. SO we took him breakfast in bed. I also made a great lunch for him of stuffed cheese macaroni shells (what we had for super last night)so overall a great day. So Lydia decided that she would be a good girl and she stayed in nursery. She even took a nap. I thought I was going to fall over when they told me this. She never stays in nursery and she always cried. Not this time she showed me up. SO we were very excited as another milestone in Lydia's life has been accomplished. Now onto conquering crawling. She has learned the art of scooting backwards so maybe soon. Happy Father's Day to all you dads.

Life for us

So what is new for us. Lydia's second tooth has popped through. She had her first ear infection and she went swimming in a pool for the first time. She didn't like it very much, and she cried for the most part. But we tried it again 2 days later and she seemed to like it better. She is starting to show her little sinner side. She decided to cry now when she doesn't get her way and when she gets sick of mommy she throws a temper tantrum. But she has a very sweet, submissive spirit and she takes discipline very lovingly through her little tears. Me, however, I am a wreck. I hate it. I know that it is good to show her that she needs discipline but my goodness it is so hard to not give in and give her what she wants. I have recently been thinking about the fact that I can kind of see why God doesn't give in and give us all we want because it would not be best for us. The first discipline experience with Lydia was because she tried to hold on to the trash can and it fell over on her and she hit her head. So I decided to teach her not to touch it well it was a battle but she no longer touches it. So I am thankful so far that she takes the discipline well. On another note, tonight was our first cook out for the summer. It was a fun day at the park. I will post some pictures of Lydia's friends from our small group. These are only a couple because we are the baby making small group and the second round has begun. The children you see in the photos are Tyler ( the little boy I babysit for), Lydia's best friend Abby, and then Mia the oldest child in our small group. Enjoy and have a great day.

Patty Cake

Well, Lydia has learned how to play patty cake. I am so excited. She sits and plays with me for about 20 minutes. She has also learned how to pull herself up with out crawling. SO still waiting for that. I have been taking care of an 8 week old baby and he is so cute. I also have Tyler who I babysit 2 days a week. SO it has been an interesting week. I have had fun though. It has given me a taste of what having 3 kids would be like. I don't think they would all be under the age of 9 months though. But it has been fun. I have also discovered this week that Lydia is very afraid of thunder and lighting storms. We have also had tornado warnings and one has touched down just a few miles away from us. SO I spent yesterday down in our laundry room. It was a fun game for Lydia and a scary time for me. But God is Soverign and he took care of us and that is so awesome. We will see how tomorrow goes as I will have all 3 children again.
